You will pay this to the Home Office directly as part of the application process.

Work included and key stages

The precise work and stages involved in an Immigration application will vary according to the circumstances. However, we have set out the key stages involved in a typical application:

  • Attending on you and discussing your circumstances in detail and confirming whether this is the most appropriate application for you to make and what other applications may be available to you.
  • Giving you advice about the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the criteria.
  • If you do not meet certain criteria, whether this can be overcome and how.
  • Considering the supporting evidence and documentation you have provided.
  • Where necessary, helping you to obtain further evidence (such as medical records and bank statements), including taking statements of any witnesses.
  • Taking your instructions and preparing your application and submitting it on your behalf.
  • If the Home Office asks you to attend an interview, we will give you clear advice and discuss the possibility of us attending with you.
  • Giving you advice about the outcome of the application, the timelines involved and any further steps you need to take.

In fairness to all clients, we deal with work, both new and existing matters, strictly in the order in which it is received. However, should a client require their matter to be dealt with expeditiously and fast track it ahead of other matters received in line, this can be done on a premium basis for an additional surcharge that will be above the normal fees charged, usually in the range of £500.00 – £1500.00 depending upon how quickly the client wants the matter to be commenced and proceeded upon.

Services excluded

Our service (for the fees provided) will not include any of the following:

  • Where the Home Office refuses your application, advice, and assistance in relation to any appeal or reapplication.
  • Obtaining a medical report (if required).
  • Attendance and representation at the Home Office will be provided at an additional fee, usually in the range of £150.00 – £250.00 depending upon the Home Office centre to be visited and the distance travelled as well as travel costs involved.

The above services can be provided at an additional cost.

Approximate/ average timescales

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application. In our experience it usually takes them anywhere from a few weeks to 6 months on average. However, the global COVID-19 pandemic has increased the usual timescale.

We will normally be able to prepare and submit an application within 1-4 weeks of you instructing us. This is on the understanding that you have been able to provide us all of the documentation and supporting evidence that we have requested in support of your application promptly.

Please note that the anticipated number of hours and fees are an estimate based on facts above. All applications are likely to vary, and of course, we can give you a more accurate estimate once we have more information on your specific case.

Factors that could increase costs

In some circumstances, there may be increased fees to pay to account for additional time, work or skill required to meet your instructions. Examples include:

  • Any adverse UK related or other Immigration history that you have not advised us about.
  • Any previous refusals or prior issues with your application that you have not property disclosed to us.
  • There are multiple other dependents on the same application and several, additional supporting documents to consider.
  • The length of time that an interpreter needs to spend on your case if it is complex.
  • If independent expert reports are needed to support your case e.g. medical reports.
  • If there is an interview with the Home Office and we attend with you, there will be additional charges to cover our travel expenses.
